Following on from a successful product launch at the London Drum Show, we are please to announce that the Garrahand is now offically available in the UK. The exhibition was well attended with some 2000 people over both days. It was a buzzing event that managed to capture a very unique atmosphere and delivered a real sense of community for everyone that made it to the show.

The LDS was certainly the place to be with a superb line-up of worldclass performers, including Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, Benny Greb and Pete Lockett amongst others. Percussity also provided a Flamenco and Cajon/Percussion Masterclass with Albert Vila and Monica Cano.

The Cajon cometh - Master Class Tour 2009

Drumming Programmes

It’s been with us for centuries now but recently the Cajon has begun to spread its wings and find appeal amongst hipsters and the wider drumming commuity. Discribed as the drumkit in a box, the Cajon has become a must have instrument for the percussive wise. Percussity teamed up with Duende to offer a touring master class to show just what the Cajon is capable of.

We would like to thank BELLPERC (London) and STAGEBEAT (Farnham) for hosting a couple of successful in store events, which took place on Sat 28th and Sun 29th of November 2009 and featured Gabriel Nuzzoli (Amy Winehouse, Ricky Martin, Courtney Pine), Albert Vila (Modern Romance, Hofesh Schechter) and Nano Gonzales (Director of Duende Percussion).

A big thank you also to everyone who came down, your positive feedback and enthusiasm is much appreciated.

The Royal Academy of Dance

With over 13,000 members' spread across 79 countries, The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the largest and most influential dance education and training organisations in the world.

Percussity closed off a successful 2 week percussion workshop at RAD (London) this July. We would like to thank everyone there for organising such a brilliant summer school.

Visit www.rad.org.uk to find out more.

The Academy's patron is HM Queen Elizabeth II. RAD Membership supports the advancement of dance and includes professional dancers, students, teachers, benefactors and friends.

The Royal Academy of Dance has 8 purpose-built studios in Battersea.

Established in 1920, to improve standards and re-invigorate dance training initially within the UK, the Academy helps and encourages its teachers to perfect their teaching skills and pass on this knowledge to their students.

There are currently over 1,000 students in full-time or part-time teacher training programmes with the Academy and each year, the examination syllabus is taught to more than a quarter of a million students worldwide.

The Academy maintains close links with all those involved in the industry, at every level. From the internationally recognised 'Faculty of Education' degree programmes to those younger students participating in our summer schools. At whatever age or stage, anyone with an appreciation of classical ballet and jazz is able to participate in the work of the Academy.

Hofesh Shechter Company

Percussity took part in an exciting music and dance project directed by Hofesh Shechter, one of the UK’s hottest young choreographers. His work was recently seen by millions of viewers when he was commissioned to choreograph the opening dance sequence for E4’s hit TV series Skins.

Presented in a live gig setting, this special collaboration between Sadler’s Wells and the Roundhouse brings together 16 dancers and 20 musicians for The Choreographer's Cut - an intense experience that pitches the highly acclaimed dance works "In Your Rooms" and "Uprising" against a percussive mash-up of rock, electro and classical sounds.
